We successfully wrapped up our Three-Day Social Volunteers Workshop under Migrants Resilience Collaborative programme from June 11 to June 13, 2025, at Indra Mahal, Harda, supported by Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives.
Volunteers learned to support migrant workers through fun and lively role-plays showing real problems like cheating by employers and unpaid wages. These activities helped them practice solving issues confidently. They also received hands-on training with “Majdoor Diaries” to record work details, which is useful for resolving wage disputes. The “Majdoor Kalyan Samiti” session was exciting, teaching volunteers how to set up local welfare groups and write letters to panchayats, making them eager to work in their villages.
On Day 2, Mr. Ashish Chourasia (Labour Officer) and Mr. Chandra Prakash Bansode (Labour Inspector) explained labor laws and the Construction Workers Welfare Board, stressing that June 12 is World Day Against Child Labour.
On Day 3, Ms. Nikhat Khan and Ms. Maanbindu from ICDS shared simple details about schemes for women, kids, and One Stop Centres for help. Facilitators Jyoti Damade, Neelam Singh, Sunder Khadse, Nilesh Billore, Anguri Uikey, Gendalal, and Vinod made it engaging, inspiring volunteers to bring change to Harda’s migrant communities.
